At Bark Hollow Childminding, we offer a unique setting in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Our team of childminders and assistants follow a gentle parenting approach, providing full support for each child in our care. Guided by the Forest School ethos, we use nature and natural resources to nurture and engage with every child. We believe in the many benefits of outdoor learning, and our focus is on emotional development, self-regulation, social skills, confidence, resilience, and independence.
Our sessions take place outdoors, come rain or shine and everything else in between. Our stunning woodland area is fully equipped with a wide range of activities. We also have a cosy yurt with a log burner to keep warm, relax, or enjoy a nap, along with fire circles and sheltered spaces perfect for resting.
Winter weather offers even more opportunities for exploration and learning, and with the right clothing to keep the children comfortable and warm, we can fully enjoy the fresh winter air. If you choose to book with us, we’ll go through all the details, but rest assured, we’ll help you prepare so your child is ready for any adventure, no matter the weather!
We provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, and daily snacks to keep everyone fuelled throughout the day. Since we’re always on the go, children will also have access to healthy snacks whenever they’re hungry. We do ask for a small contribution towards food and nappies, but you’re welcome to provide your own if you prefer to do so.
This year, we’re excited to grow our own fruits and vegetables, and the children will be involved in planting, tending, harvesting, cooking, eating, and composting. We’ll keep you updated on this exciting journey via our Instagram and private Facebook group, where you can join us and follow along.
